A small country about the size of South Carolina, Panama has a wide variety of world-class attractions: exotic tropical rainforests, stunning mountain refuges, a Caribbean and Pacific Coast with 1500 islands, seven living Indigenous cultures , a Miami-style sophisticated capital city, a vibrant nightlife, Spanish colonial historical sites, world class golfing, diving, sport fishing, and surfing, not to mention that 8th wonder of the world the Panama Canal. A key indicator of its bio-diversity: 944 recorded bird species, more than the U.S. and Canada combined.
Panama City itself has the only rainforest within city limits in the world- the Metropolitan Park. Pipeline Road, just outside Panama City has a world record of 350 bird species counted in one day.
